Members have contributed to text books on travel litigation, including the section on overseas claims in the Butterworth’s Personal Injury Litigation Service. Several members are fluent in the main European languages and are able to accept instructions in these languages.
We provide specialist advice and representation in all areas of the field including claims arising under the Package Travel Regulations 1992 and 2018, incidents occurring in the course of international carriage by air, sea and rail and direct actions involving foreign domiciled insurers and parties. Members of Chambers have preeminent expertise in cases where issues of jurisdiction and conflict of laws arise and frequently act in claims pursued in the courts of England and Wales which are determined under foreign law. We have particular expertise in inquiries, inquests and litigation arising following overseas terrorist incidents.
We act for claimants and leading airlines, tour operators, travel agents, and cruise lines and their insurers at all stages of litigation and ADR, from fast track cases to the most substantial and complex disputes, including serious head and spinal injuries, catastrophic and fatal accidents, and contractual disputes.
