Chambers provides a formidable offering in insolvency litigation and associated advisory work. With vast knowledge and depth, our barristers are strategic and highly experienced. They regularly appear in courts of every level in England and Wales (including the Supreme Court) and internationally, with significant global reach (particularly in Hong Kong, the Caribbean, the DIFC, the USA, Gibraltar and the Channel Islands).

Chambers provides strength in depth, from senior KCs, established senior juniors to recently qualified juniors. This means we are able to provide a fully comprehensive service, whether for a multi-counsel team or an individual expert.

Members work across a range of sectors and for a range of clients, including global corporations, financial institutions, government bodies (including foreign governments), trust structures, partnerships alongside private individuals, UHNW individuals and their estates. Our barristers are trusted by leading commercial solicitors’ firms, insolvency practitioners and litigation funders in matters in which precision and authority are required offering strategic litigation and advice across the full domestic and cross-border insolvency landscape.

Chambers is also able to draw on Members’ knowledge in other specialised linked areas of law, including banking, civil fraud and asset recovery, commercial, company and partnership, crypto, property law and trusts. Our expertise in cross-jurisdictional civil fraud, asset recovery and commercial litigation places our members in a prime position to act in cross-border insolvencies, the enforcement of judgment and arbitration awards and obtaining freezing orders or opposing such relief.

Members act in all aspects of insolvency and restructuring, including:

  • Statutory demands
  • Winding up and bankruptcy petitions
  • Liquidation
  • Administration
  • Receiverships
  • Asset tracing and recovery
