Members of Chambers regularly act in international arbitrations, for and against governments, companies, institutions and individuals, throughout the world.
Our experience in constitutional and public law cases is directly relevant to investor/state arbitrations with the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). These arbitrations have their own special features, deriving from the nature of arbitration between the host state and investor corporation. Our experience of Privy Council cases involving foreign governments, state institutions and corporations is particularly useful; not only in complex ICSID arbitrations but in other arbitrations involving infrastructure projects in developing countries.
We also have experience of appearing in arbitrations conducted in accordance with the London Maritime Arbitrators’ Association (LMAA) Rules.
