We provide a wide range of advocacy and advisory services in the UK and internationally. We pride ourselves on our approachable and friendly outlook and our ability to build strong relationships with clients. Our barristers have received over 40 individual rankings covering 15 practice areas across the legal directories, including in Civil Fraud, Commercial Litigation, Insolvency and Travel amongst others. We are supported by a highly experienced, friendly and responsive practice management team, headed by James Donovan.
Our international derivatives and financial disputes practice is unique.
We focus on high-stakes litigation and arbitration for major participants in the financial services industry and their customers, as both claimants and defendants, including close-out contract settlements following defaults, misselling and other counterparty relationship claims and jurisdictional disputes over derivatives and other financial products trading.
Jeffrey Golden KC (Hon), has acted extensively for the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) since its inception, including as a principal author of ISDA’s Master Agreements and many of its product-specific documentation. Having topped the rankings for derivatives lawyers over the years and drawn accolades from all leading law firm directories, including, among others, having been hailed as “Mr Derivatives” (Chambers) and “legendary” (Legal 500) and credited with having “written the law on derivatives” (Legal 500), Jeff has given expert evidence on numerous occasions in courts at home and abroad, has considerable experience of dealing with global regulators and insolvency practitioners and has been in the forefront of the transformation of the derivatives and financial products markets for decades.
In Chambers, we have built a practice group that can draw on an unmatched market network in and international experience of multiple jurisdictions, and our resulting ability to provide conflicts-free advocacy and advice is a particular plus.
