This week, Chambers bids a heartfelt farewell to Pierre Janusz as he retires after nearly half a century with us. Pierre was called to the Bar in 1979 and, shortly after completing pupillage, joined what was then 1 Crown Office Row. Since that time, he has been a pillar of our common law and travel teams, building a distinguished career that has taken him to the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, and even the Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

Pierre’s erudition — particularly in the field of conflicts of law — has been invaluable to colleagues across Chambers. His generosity in sharing his knowledge, coupled with his active participation in Chambers’ social life, has enriched our community both professionally and personally.

We are delighted that Pierre will not be cutting ties completely. Despite a busy holiday schedule ahead, he has graciously agreed to remain part of Chambers as our Complaints Officer. We are deeply grateful for his immense contribution to Chambers and to the Bar over so many years.

We wish Pierre and his wife Frances every happiness in the next chapter.
Pierre Janusz — Non solum sapientiae plenus.
