The Hon Randy J. Holland

We were saddened to learn the news of the passing of The Honorable Randy J Holland, who joined 3 Hare Court as a Door Tenant in June 2018.  Randy was previously a Delaware Supreme Court Justice for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2017.  When he took his oath of office in 1986, at age 39, he became the youngest person to serve on the Delaware Supreme Court and also became the longest serving justice in the history of Delaware, having been re-appointed to an unprecedented third term.

Throughout his thirty year tenure on the bench, Justice Holland had written more than 700 reported opinions and several thousand case dispositive orders.  Several of these opinions have been cited with approval by the United States Supreme Court, and many are in law school casebooks on a variety of legal subject.
