TATLA – Claims concerning accidents in and around water at home and overseas

Tabitha Hutchison and Dr Dan Jacklin (St Philips Chambers) will be presenting a webinar on 10 September 2025 hosted by TATLA (the Travel and Tourism Lawyers Association) as part of their travel law series.

In this webinar, Tabitha will provide a legal update and offer insights into key principles likely to arise when bringing and defending aquatic injury claims, including in relation to employers’ liability, breach of statutory duty, causation, and the defences of contributory negligence and volenti non fit injuria.

Dan will share a high-level overview of the developing areas of aquatic injury litigation around new features and technologies concerning swimming pools, waterslides, surfing, open water swimming, beaches, wakeboarding, and jet skis. Dan will offer tips from his experience on how best to handle expert evidence in such cases.
