On 12 July 2024, the Employment Tribunal handed down its reserved judgment in the matter of Copleston v Reynolds Training Limited (Case No: 2300335/2023).

The Claimant was dismissed from his employment during his probationary period, and brought a claim for direct discrimination on grounds of disability and discrimination arising from disability.

Following a four-day final hearing, the claim was dismissed in full, with the Tribunal finding that the Claimant was in fact dismissed for unsuitability, having displayed “unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour in a senior position”, including hitting a member of staff on the arm.

Tabitha Hutchison acted for the successful Respondent, instructed by Pro-Legal Group Limited.
