William Godwin and Robert Strang successfully represented Peerless Ltd, a Mauritian bookmaker,  in the Privy Council on an appeal from the Mauritian Supreme Court’s refusal to grant Peerless leave to seek judicial review of the Mauritian gambling authority’s decision to suspend and not to renew its licence to operate.

The hearing raised interesting questions about the duties of disclosure on parties to judicial review proceedings and the obligation on public bodies to give reasons, among other issues.
