Professor Satvinder Juss was interviewed today on the European Court’s ruling to bar Britain from deporting two Somali citizens convicted of crime. The European Court said that Britain would be in contravention of the European Convention on Human Rights, as the Somalis could face “inhuman” treatment or even torture if they were forced to return to their home country.

Professor Satvinder Juss said during interview: “This does expose free countries, countries that are governed by the rule of law, to dangers on their own territory. We are held up, as law-respecting societies, to a higher standard. I would, personally, not have it any other way”.
