Katherine Deal QC has this week completed an appeal from Trinidad and Tobago to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in the matter of Roopchand v. Tesheira.
This appeal concerned a clinical negligence action and whether the lower courts properly considered issues of the scope of an anaesthetist’s duty of care (amongst other matters). Judgment is awaited.
She was instructed by John Almeida of Charles Russell Speechlys LLP.
This was the thirteenth Privy Council appeal in which a member of chambers has acted so far this year.
