A former US Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court, considered by many to be the leading State commercial court, has become a Door Tenant here.
Chambers are delighted to announce its newly elected Door Tenant is the Honourable Randy J Holland. It is believed that this is the first time that a former US Justice has affiliated with a leading English set of Chambers.
An elected Honorary Master of the Bench of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, Randy Holland was at the time of his initial judicial appointment the youngest ever Supreme Court Justice in Delaware, and, at the time of his retirement last year was the longest serving justice in the history of that court. Justice Holland is a recognised expert on state constitutional, appellate litigation and company law. He currently practices in those areas and as a specialist arbitrator/mediator. He will also continue his role of Senior Of Counsel in the Wilmington, Delaware office of US law firm Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati.
Randy has been active internationally, is a past president of the American Inns of Court and has published extensively, including having co-authored a book on Middle Temple Lawyers and the American Revolution; and Magna Carta, for the United States Library of Congress. Commenting on his new appointment, Randy Holland said: “This is a high honour for me. I am looking forward to this very special affiliation and to interacting with such a distinguished set of barristers.”
Joint Head of Chambers, Jeffrey Golden, adds: “I have known Randy Holland for nearly two decades and have admired him, his work and his tireless efforts to promote access to and public confidence in the administration of justice for even longer. We look forward to this new relationship, which is certain to foster a wider appreciation internationally of the English Bar, as well as special opportunities for collaboration between a jurist of his broad experience, and the skilled advocates and experts here in Chambers.”
