We are regularly instructed to provide advocacy and advisory services in immigration matters.

Members have represented both Claimants and Respondents in asylum, human rights and detention claims as well as cases under the Points Based system. Several members of chambers are on the Attorney General’s panel of counsel.

Our experience includes both appellate work in the First Tier and Upper Tribunals as well as judicial reviews, including emergency injunctions. Our members regularly appear in the High Court and Court of Appeal.

-R (Bashir) [2016] EWHC 954 (Admin): leading for the Secretary of State in this judicial review concerning (inter alia) whether under public international law the Refugee Convention and Protocol apply to the UK Sovereign Base Areas in Cyprus.

-R (Singh) [2015] Imm. A.R. 16: on the transitional provisions under the new article 8 rules.

-Sarkar [2014] EWCA Civ 195, [2014] All ER (D) 270: on article 8 and the scope of the Upper Tribunal’s jurisdiction.

-SH (Pakistan) [2016] EWCA Civ 426, Nyasulu [2016] EWCA Civ 1145 and Farooq [2016] EWHC 2386 Admin: Concerning the application of the Home Secretary’s evidential flexibility policy and the common law duty of fairness.

-R (Satananthan & Ors) v SSHF [2016] EWHC 1781 Admin: Challenge to the Home Secretary’s bail accommodation policy.
