Judgment was recently handed down in the Defendants’ jurisdictional challenge in Zephyrus Capital Aviation Partners 1d Ltd and Others v Fidelis Underwriting Ltd and Others [2024] EWHC 734 (Comm).

The complex insurance dispute, concerning hundreds of foreign aircraft detained in Russia, will now remain in the Commercial Court to be case managed up to trial. It forms part of a larger dispute, AerCap and others v AIG and others, recognised by The Lawyer as a Top 20 case for 2024.

Christopher Loxton, instructed by Fieldfisher for Deep Sky Leasing companies, was on the Claimant side that successfully saw off the jurisdictional challenge.
