In this claim for Judicial Review, Thomas Roe QC (instructed by Government Legal Department) acted for the Defendant.

Mr Justice Cavanagh: “In this claim for judicial review, the Claimants contend that the conditions in which they were held at Brook House Immigration Removal Centre (“Brook House”), near Gatwick Airport, were unlawful, on a number of cumulative and alternative grounds. At the material times, in 2017 and 2018, Brook House was being run by G4S, pursuant to a contract between G4S and the Defendant. This contract was awarded following a procurement exercise in 2007-8.”
