Mr. James Bristol joined 3 Hare Court as a Door Tenant on 1 February 2025.

Mr. James Bristol joined Henry, Henry & Bristol in 1990 following his call to the Bar of England & Wales as a member of the Honorable Society of the Middle Temple.

With a background in aircraft engineering, Bristol brought a practical approach to his legal practice, not only in problem-solving, but in all aspects of facilitating his clients’ needs in providing timely, workable and cost-effective results.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Bristol has successfully negotiated investment agreements with governments throughout the Eastern Caribbean and has been a leading team member on property acquisitions, business mergers and financing transactions in the region, which resulted in mega success for his clients. Additionally, Mr. Bristol served the legal profession as a judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, Attorney General of Grenada (2008 -2009) and several terms as president of the Grenada Bar Association.

Mr. Bristol is admitted to the Bars of Antigua, Barbados, England & Wales, Grenada, St. Lucia and Trinidad and currently practises in Antigua, Grenada and St. Lucia. As one of His majesty’s Counsel where he enjoys the pre-eminent right of audience throughout the jurisdiction of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.

Bristol is qualified as a mediator through the Centre for Dispute Resolution in England. He practices mainly in commercial law, including banking, corporate law and civil litigation taking cases up to Grenada’s final court of appeal, the Privy Council, in London.

Mr. Bristol was appointed one of Her Majesty’s Counsel on February 1st, 2021.
