Hannah regularly appears as sole counsel in the County Court and High Court and has appeared (led) in the Privy Council and the Supreme Court.
Before joining Chambers, Hannah obtained a First-Class law degree, followed by a Distinction in her LLM in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution, at Queen Mary, University of London. Hannah worked as a paralegal and research assistant to a construction silk. Additionally, she has worked as a legal intern at a software company in London and the litigation, banking and finance departments of a Kuala-Lumpur based law firm.
Commercial, Insolvency and Civil Fraud
Hannah is developing a broad practice covering all areas of commercial law. She regularly appears in the County Court, High Court and before Insolvency and Company Court Judges in a range of insolvency and bankruptcy matters and general commercial claims.
Hannah has recently recorded a webinar on the remuneration of the officer holder for R3’s Introduction to Insolvency eLearning Series. She has written articles on how company voluntary arrangements (CVAs) fit with the current approach of “rescue culture” for companies facing financial difficulties due to coronavirus and remote hearings of winding-up and bankruptcy petitions under the Temporary Insolvency Practice Direction.
She also regularly contributes with Richard Samuel to Legalmondo, a platform for international legal services. Their most recent guide concerns the effects of Brexit on jurisdiction and enforcement of judgments between the UK and EU member states.
Junior counsel (led by Thomas Roe QC and Richard Samuel) instructed by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Fair Business Banking as an Intervener in Pakistan International Airline Corporation v Times Travel (UK) Ltd UKSC 2019/0142 concerning economic duress.
Assisted Simon Davenport QC in a partnership dispute concerning restrictive covenants.
Assisted Richard Samuel in a case involving the interpretation of the Estate Agents Act 1979 and Money Laundering Regulations 2007 and 2017.
Assisted Tom Poole in an eight-week trial in the Commercial Court, which concerned a claim by a Russian bank alleging misappropriation of assets against its former directors and shareholders (as a pupil).
Assisted Robert Strang in an arbitration concerning an oil field production service contract under the UNICITRAL Arbitration Rules (as a pupil).
Hannah is developing her practice in employment law and has a keen interest in this area. Her recent experience includes acting for a Respondent in an unfair dismissal claim concerning redundancy and age discrimination. Hannah also recently advised on the identity of the employer in a corporate group structure involving parent and subsidiary companies.
Currently instructed as junior counsel (led by Thomas Roe QC) in a complex employment claim involving unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, discrimination claims and unlawful deduction of wages.
Hannah has a particular interest in international arbitration and dispute resolution. She holds an LLM in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution, specialising in international arbitration, from Queen Mary, University of London, in which she was awarded a Distinction.
Hannah is a guest lecturer at the University of West London in International Commercial Arbitration and Mediation. She also was part of the Organising Committee for the AIJA Arbitration Commission Day in 2020 on interim relief and expedited resolution of disputes in international arbitration.

Personal Injury and Travel & Aviation
Hannah regularly acts in trials, interlocutory hearings and drafts pleadings in claims concerning travel law and the Package Travel Regulations. This includes personal injury suffered abroad, holiday sickness claims, misrepresentation claims, jurisdictional and conflict of law issues.
She regularly represents various airlines in passenger claims for compensation under the EU Denied Boarding Regulations (EC Regulation 261/2004), the Montreal Convention and claims concerning discrimination. Hannah also has experience in fast-track trials involving personal injuries from road traffic accidents.
Currently instructed as junior counsel (led by Asela Wijeyaratne) in a personal injury claim concerning psychiatric injury caused by work related stress and civil fraud.
Junior counsel (led by Katherine Deal QC) in The Airport Authority v Western Air Ltd (The Bahamas) [2020] UKPC 29 concerning liability in negligence leading to the theft of an aircraft.
Hannah also has a keen interest in professional negligence claims. She is currently instructed as junior counsel led by Asela Wijeyaratne in a professional negligence action concerning the purchase and development of residential property, with substantial foreign law elements and jurisdictional issues.
Hannah has acted and advised in landlord and tenant disputes including possession and leasehold forfeiture claims and associated costs. She has also advised on property law issues in Caribbean jurisdictions.
Public, Administrative and Constitutional Law
Hannah has gained experience in a wide range of public and constitutional law matters, both in domestic and commonwealth contexts. During pupillage and tenancy, she has provided assistance in cases before the Privy Council and the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. Her recent experience includes assisting and advising on judicial conflict of interests concerning without prejudice correspondence in the Bahamas.
Assisted James Guthrie QC on a judicial review and constitutional law case in the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court concerning the legality of a long-term concession contract in respect of cruise facilities and services.
