30th Annual IBA Global Insolvency and Restructuring Conference

Charlotte Pope-Williams will be speaking at the 30th Annual IBA Global Insolvency and Restructuring Conference on the topic of: A strategic play for restructuring distressed football clubs.  

The panel will be chaired by Gordon Hollerin of Harper MacLeod LLP and Charlotte’s co-speakers will be Giulio Andreani of Gianni & Origoni, Hanneke De Coninck of Florent, Guilherme Fontes Bechara of Demarest Advogados and James Stephen BDO. 

This panel will cut through the complexity at the intersection of sport-specific legislation and corporate insolvency legislation, and discuss the unique balance required to align sport specific rules within the broader insolvency framework governing insolvent corporations. While highlighting the distinct landscape of football club restructuring, the panel will also discuss creative strategies that might be implemented to successfully restructure a football club.
