Before coming to the Bar, Dan gained significant legal commercial experience, particularly whilst working at a major City law firm on a large shipbuilding dispute in arbitration.
Dan’s practice is increasingly focused on Commercial and Business law, and he has experience of a wide range of commercial contract disputes. His practice includes insolvency work (both personal and corporate), and commercial chancery work. He has advised on mortgage shortfall claims, of which he has specialist knowledge.

In March 2008, Dan was appointed to the Attorney General’s ‘C’ Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown.

Publications and Lectures: Solicitors Journal (on the law governing the limitation period in mortgage shortfall claims); Corporate Tax Review; contributes to Client Bulletins produced by Chambers, including in Commercial Law; lectures on Company and Insolvency Law (including under the Companies Act 2006);on mortgage shortfall claims; and on advocacy skills.
