Appeals to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council are a specific and important part of Chambers’ work. We undertake a broad range of these appeals, from all of the countries which are subject to this jurisdiction. These are principally the Commonwealth countries of the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Bermuda and Mauritius.

In the Privy Council we regularly appear for the individuals, the institutions (such as companies and banks), and the Governments of these jurisdictions who find themselves before their final Court of Appeal. The general importance of these cases means that many appear in the Law reports, and further details appear on our website.

As part of this work, individual members of these Chambers have always undertaken a considerable number of pro bono petitions and appeals, usually (but not always) in death row cases.
